Do you know the They Might Be Giants kids music? Also, Josie just turned me on to Kimya Dawson.
ReplyDeleteI love TMBG!
ReplyDeleteI love the Rockabye Baby CDs...pleasant for kids, and totally for parents who can't take it with the kiddie music anymore.
ReplyDeleteI grew up on Raffi...loved it!
Ziggy Marley has a new CD: Family Time that is so sweet. My friend bought it for her child-to-be and Ziggy had the two of us roaring like lions and dancing in the car. VERY FUN CD :)
ReplyDeleteJack Johnson's Curious George soundtrack
ReplyDeleteJudas Priest
ReplyDeletehahahahahaha Filoli!
ReplyDeleteI might be drunk, but still-- filoli is cracking me up!
ReplyDeleteOkay, just checked out the Rockabye Baby site...they have way more than I even knew about: Beatles, ACDC, Bjork, The Cure, Bob Marley, Coldplay, The Eagles, Green Day, Led Zepplin, Metallica, NIN, Nirvana, Pink Floyd, The Pixies, Smashing Pumpkins, Queen, Radiohead, Ramones, Rolling Stones, U2 -- something for everyone....need to add some of these to my list.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun shower! I am only able to drop in occaisionally from work, but thank you all. And I have been trying to convince Julie that our children would surely appreciate an album of whale and dolphin songs.
ReplyDeleteAnd no, I am not joking.
Thanks again!
Steven
Seriously, he called me and said, "Please add the NPR CD of whales singing to our kids' wish list. And a train set." He kills me. Love him.
ReplyDeleteWell, Kiya listens to country in the car with me and on occaison a little Bon Jovi because I just can't resist. I know country isn't for everyone but I love it and then can pathetically sing to Kiya though she probably wishes I wouldn't. We love Sugarland, Garth Brooks, George Strait, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Darius Rucker, Zac Brown band to name a few.
ReplyDeleteAria and Devin's personal cd mix for Blueberry which includes lots of latino music, some "verse friendly" hip hop (it does NOT include birthday sex or that eminem song that mentions his pee pee), and it's all dance music cuz we love to shake our donks around here! (I'm trying to maintain my coarse attitude). These CD's are made to order by the "biggies" in da house!
ReplyDeleteJudas Priest,!!! Filoli, can I be your child?
ReplyDeleteYour kids would love Plant's & Krauss' "Raising Sand". Olly digs it before nap time.
Cindy
Pacey absolutely loves the imagination movers on Disney!! She head bangs in the care to them:-)
ReplyDeleteOpera.
ReplyDeleteRuth & Aster (fka Curly & Slick) love Reggae for Kids (http://www.amazon.com/Reggae-Kids-Various-Artists/dp/B000000Q2D) The songs by Yellow Man and Black Sheep are thier faves.
ReplyDeleteRaffi! If I have to hear Baby Beluga or Banana Phone One. More. Time. I may lose my mind! But the kids all LOVE them. We even have the books.
ReplyDeleteMy kids love the KidsBop CD's although like Carrie with Raffie they make me want to vomit just a little. They can listen when I am safely out of earshot. Mihiret also loves Beyonce...shrug...what can I say...
ReplyDeleteEmmett's favorite when we came home from ET last year was Gigi (the Gold and Wax CD)...we played it constantly in the car. Whenever he was feeling feisty or I saw a tantrum coming, we'd get in the car and drive around the neighborhood, blasting Gigi! Even made a 12 hour car trip to meet the grandmothers in Florida bearable for him, when we replayed it at least 8 or 10 times each way :) - Themia
ReplyDeleteLaurie Berkner - Under a Shady Tree
ReplyDeleteNot sure what others think of her pop-y style but Noah loves to jump and rock along with her band.
helllooooo everybody, so glad to see you......
ReplyDeletehellllo to julie, so glad to see you too.......
