YOU WON! YOU WON!!

Well, the moment you've waiting for has arrived. It is officially "this evening" and here are the winners of today's shower games....

The two winners of Game #1, Trivia (Blog Version) are MaryJo and Katy! MaryJo got every answer right on her first try, while Katy barely made it because she was cheating off Evelyn. Julie-- please answer the two questions on everyone's mind: 1.) What was the deal with Adam Sandler? and 2.) WHAT HAPPENED TO THE WARHOL MAGAZINE?

As judged by Julie herself, Meghan wins Game #2! Here's the real REAL STORY, in Julie's words:

The story behind the picture- Warning- Not at all p.c. Steven and I staged a photo in order to create a, “Dreaming of a White Trash Christmas,” Christmas card. How very highbrow eh? The worst part was that Steven sent one to his non-English speaking Grandma in Germany. She thought that was how I always dressed, and behaved. Yep, a great first impression. It was our first Christmas together, and that was our truck, and that was our sweet girl Lummi, (who would never turn down a cold one). My best friend, Heather Foster, the painter, took the photo in the driveway of our 400 sq ft house in Santa Fe , New Mexico. 1995.

I have to declare Meghan as the winner, with Filoli a VERY close second. Meghan’s story mirrors ours, particularly in the order, and rapidness of our, er, coming together, as it were.

I had my mother choose the winners for the random drawings because she's way more honest than me. Rebekah, you win Game #3! But my mom wants you to know that says no to the opera music.

Game #4's winner proves that if you want something badly enough, it's yours even if you don't know what time it is. You just have to know what time it isn't. Filoli takes Game #4!

Today's door prize is happily awarded to Themia. My mom was all proud of herself after she read Themia's beautifully written comment as if she were awarding a prize for writing. No mom, you just picked a number between 1 and 29. "Yes, but I picked 25!" We can't argue wtih that.

So winners, email your street addresses to me at showerforjcmarie@hotmail.com and I'll get your prizes sent off to you! You've earned them!

Thanks again everyone-- good times!

:-) Tanya

GAME #5 - Not Really, but Thank You and a Reminder

THANK YOU so much for spending time here today! If you're stopping by later in the day, feel free to add comments anywhere you like. Please also remember to leave a little love for Julie on the Whoever You Are post, which also enters you to win today's door prize! You are eligible to win any games you'd like to play until winners are posted this evening. You'll want to be sure to check back here then (at the vague time of "this evening") for a complete list of today's winners so I can mail you your prizes! (I know-- the SUSPENSE! But I want to be sure those without office doors and with lingering bosses have a chance to play Games #2 and 3 this afternoon).

I have had a good time meeting you all-- Julie is one lucky lady to have so much love coming at her from so many directions, just as we are all feeling pretty lucky to have been touched by her.

Again, thanks so much for your participation! You've been enthusiastic and gracious guests! I hope you haven't had too much champagne -- drive safely now!

:-) Tanya

GAME #4 - (Not so trivial) Trivia (Do-Good Version)

1. Why was Julie barefoot on her birthday this year (April 16)?
2. What is Heregwoin Tefera famous for?

GAME #3 - MUSIC! Makes the People!

The Eyes of My Eyes has featured loads of songs that have served as a sort of soundtrack to Julie and Steven’s wait. Julie's Tagged: Movie Soundtrack Edition is also great fun!

How to Play: They’ve registered for some music on Amazon.com, but please take a moment to suggest some kid-friendly music that you and/or your kids love and want to share with M & m. Submit your suggestions as a comment to this post and I’ll randomly draw one name from all who respond. Winner will receive a copy of Putumayo's Reggae Playground CD!

GAME #2 - Picture I.D.

This is one of my favorite Would You Place Children photos! It seems too perfect to not have been staged, yet I like to imagine this is just how Julie and Steven spent every Saturday morning once upon a time, relaxing on the hood of a neighbor's truck in curlers, Judas Priest t-shirts and cans of Blatz.

How to Play: What's the real story here? Post your guess as a comment to this post. Julie will have to judge this one-- whoever is closest wins that which one ought to drink at breakfast time: a 12 ounce package of Pura Vida's Ethiopian Sidamo coffee! Winner announced whenever Julie decides!

GAME #1 -- Trivia (Blog Version)

The answers to these questions can be found at the blog that brought us to Julie-- hers! Hint: Use the search box in the upper left corner of her blog.

How to Play: Submit all answers to the following questions in one comment to this post by clicking the word comments below. The first two people to submit all correct answers will each win a package of Hot Tamales and a copy of Jane Kurtz’s Fire on the Mountain! Winners will be announced soon!

1. What was the name of the funny, now appropriately retired, occasional photo feature on The Eyes of My Eyes?

2. What is the name of Julie’s other blog? Eyes on the Prize, For Your Eyes Only, Eyes on Books, or Eye Can’t Wait?
3. Which of these famous authors has not guest-blogged at The Eyes of My Eyes? Rebecca Haile, Melissa Faye Greene, Jane Kurtz?

4. Which of these activities might M & m learn from their father? Guitar playing, beekeeping, plush thyroid toy making, all of the above?

5. What ten items were pictured on day ten of Julie’s Countdown to Court?

6. Which Saturday Night Live comedian did Julie once date? Chris Farley, Eddie Murphy or Adam Sandler?

7. What did Julie once receive from Andy Warhol? A magazine, a hug or a paperdoll?

8. Julie recently wrote an article for mindful-mama.com What was it titled?

9. On what date did Julie and Steven begin “officially waiting"?

10. On what date did Julie and Steven finally receive their proposal?
